Making Stuff during the week

About a month ago, one morning during the baby's naptime, I decided to get out the new Viking sewing machine I received for Christmas. I used to "sew" when I was a kid - by this I mean handsewing doll clothes and furnishings. I think maybe my mom taught me how to use the sewing machine and I would "sew" random pieces of cloth together. Maybe I made a pillow or something? Anyway, I asked for this sewing machine last year. I was thinking I would take a class or something. Yeah so...I was six months into the year and no class. So, I got out the machine, figured it out, and have been making what I thought was an easy romper. Mmm hmm. How hard can it be, right? So of course I screwed it up. But I've decided the baby is going to wear it no matter how weird it ends up looking, because it's my first project. right? hey, she won't ever know. She's six months old. Seriously, though, I think I'm realizing with this mommy to a baby stuff that I need to be regularly creating. something. so I don't just get sucked into "now who was I again before this baby?" But I think I shouldn't read blogs of those of you who actually sew. I'm getting scared reading about rolls of bias interfacing. I'm proud of my romper. I'll let you know how the snaptape goes.
A cool blog I found this week that is inspiring me is justsomethingimade.com. Check it out.
